PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – Robert L. Treadwell, 91, a lifelong resident of the area, died Saturday, Feb. 21.
He was born in Peekskill Feb. 16, 1924, to Lester and Edna Marquart Treadwell. On Feb. 26, 1946, he married Gertrude (Trudy) McChain; she predeceased him on March 3, 2007. They first met at the Peekskill Roller Rink and continued to skate until 2006. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Peekskill since the 1940s and worked at IBM in Yorktown for many years as an electronics technician.
He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Jacobs; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Peekskill. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
