Richard A. Rundle Sr., 82, Former Peekskill Police Department Detective

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. -- Richard Allen Rundle Sr., "Buddy," of Hopewell Junction, formerly of Peekskill, died Monday, Sept. 29. He was 82.

Rundle was born Jan. 14, 1932, in Peekskill to Norman and Helen (nee Gibson) Rundle. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a sergeant with the 24th Infantry. He had a 20-year career with the Peekskill Police Department and retired as a detective.

Rundle is survived by his wife, Audrey; sons, Richard Jr. (Kathy), Robert (Donna) and Kenneth (Lisa); eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Koch, Faye Quirk and Geraldine Bopp; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Kathleen Eyles; and brother, William Rundle.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Peekskill, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, followed by interment in the Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
