Oscar W. Brauer, 74, Of Peekskill

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Oscar W. Brauer, a Peekskill resident, died March 20. He was 74.

Brauer was born in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, June 23, 1939, to Oskar and Ida Brauer. He attended St. Francis Preparatory High School in Williamsburg and became a student pilot in the Blue Angels squadron that flew out of Floyd Bennett field. He was a police officer, later he changed careers and made a living in New York's garment district for the next 20 years. He ended his working career as a logistics manager for the FAA at JFK airport.

Brauer is survived by his wife, Renate; sons, Bruce (Jeanne-Marie), Kyle; daughter, Kristina (Jeffrey) Barrett; three grandchildren; brother, Bryan Brauer of Sayville, N.Y.; sister, Barbara Kehrley of Leicester, N.C.

Calling hours are Saturday, March 23 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Peekskill, where a Funeral Service will be offered at 2 p.m. followed by a procession to the Ferncliff Crematory, Hartsdale, N.Y.
