Loretta M. Donohue, 84, Peekskill Resident

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – Loretta M. "Mamami" Donohue, a lifelong resident of Peekskill, died June 18. She was 84.

A homemaker, she was born Sept. 4, 1931, in Peekskill, to John and Mary Powers Keenan. She graduated from Peekskill High School in 1950. On May 12, 1951, she married John H. "Peewee" Donohue at Eternal Father of the Sea Chapel at the Naval Base in Charleston, S.C.

She is survived by her husband, John H. Donohue, of Peekskill; six children, Kathleen Fytros of Peekskill, Nancy (Roy) Scott of Peekskill, Kelly Donohue of Peekskill, John H. (Gail) Donohue of Plattsburg, Patricia (William) Engleman of Albuquerque, N.M. and Heather Gretz of Newburyport, Mass.; a sister, Jane Eickler of Peekskill; 14 grandchildren, Kyle, Shannon, Ashley, Jillian, Jennifer, John, Jordan, Casey, Brandon, Alexis, Olivia, Charlotte, Christian and Carson; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington St., Peekskill. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Assumption Church, 131 Union Ave., Peekskill. Interment will follow at the Assumption Cemetery.
