PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – David Edward Parker Sr., a longtime Peekskill resident, died Sept. 17. He was 64.
Born Oct. 15, 1947, he was the son of David A. Parker and Marion A. Jones. He served in the Air Force from 1966 to 1970 during the Vietnam War. Parker later worked as a counselor at the F.D.R. Veterans Hospital in Montrose.
He was a member of the St. John's 59 of International Masons of Peekskill and the Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Peekskill. An avid fisherman, Parker also loved photography.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Clark Parker; a son, David E. (Julia) Parker Jr.; a daughter, Nyeemah Parker; a brother, Ronald Patrick Parker; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Peekskill, where a home going service will be offered at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. E.O. Curry Funeral Home in Peekskill is handling arrangements.
