PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – Daniel R. "Danny" Cairl, a longtime Peekskill resident, died Dec. 19. He was 93.
Cairl was born June 6, 1922, in West Pittston, Pa., to Michael and Mary Phyllis Bocolo Caravaggio.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and worked as a foreman at General Motors in Tarrytown.
Cairl was predeceased by his parents, brothers Michael and Anthony, and sister, Philomena Tinklepaugh.
He is survived by his wife Yolanda, two sons; Dennis of Cortlandt Manor, and Ralph and his wife Maureen of Myrtle Beach, S.C., five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two nephews; Michael and Anthony Caravaggio.
Visiting hours are from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington St., Peekskill.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Assumption Church, 131 Union Avenue, Peekskill, followed by private cremation.
