He was the beloved son of Connie Magee McCombe of Cortlandt Manor and George “Eddie” McCombe of Peekskill. Conner was also a special brother to George McCombe and his wife, Anne, of Bloomington, IN and Kierstin and Kara McCombe of Cortlandt Manor.
Conner had special needs since birth, but he was a resilient human being, who persevered and achieved more than anyone ever thought possible. His beautiful blue eyes, long lashes and infectious sweet smile will be remembered, as will the simple joy he found in bouncing a basketball.
In addition to his parents and siblings, Conner is survived by his grandparents Mary Alice McCombe of Yonkers, Patti and Dan Mappes, of Indianapolis, and John and Valerie Magee of Saratoga Springs. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, and cousins, as well as numerous caregivers who, over the many years, became like family. He was predeceased by his grandfather, George McCombe.
Visitation will be held on April 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Taconic Christian Church, 1243 Whitehill Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598. A Celebration Service to honor Conner’s life will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will include a time to share thoughts or memories of Conner.
We find solace in knowing that Conner has left his pain behind and is now made complete and perfect in the arms of Jesus. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Center for Discover, Conner’s home for many years. Their address is P.O. Box 840, Harris, NY 12742.
