According to police, Ruffin was killed when her vehicle landed in Wappinger Creek on Bullshead Road after striking a bridge guide rail, slid along the rail and ended up in the water.

Following the news of her death, lifelong family friend Kory Wimberly set up a GoFundMe page to help her family cover funeral expenses.

Her soon to be husband, Ryan Lowery, and son, Aiden, 4,  were everything to her, he wrote on the page.

"She was a wonderful mother and friend to the entire family. The last thing this family should be worrying about is paying for her funeral services," Wimberly wrote.

To date, the page has raised $2,620 of the $10,000 goal. To donate, click here.
