Catherine E. Kraft, 102, Lifelong Peekskill Resident, Clerk At Woolworth’s

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Catherine E. Kraft, a lifelong resident of Peekskill, died Aug. 1. She was 102.

Kraft was born Jan. 29, 1911, daughter of William and Frances (Rogan) Carlough. She was a communicant of the Assumption Church in Peekskill. She worked for over 25-years as a clerk at the Woolworth’s Department Store in Peekskill, until retiring. She volunteered her time at the Hudson Valley Hospital, where she was honored for over 40-years of service.

Kraft is survived by her son, Robert (Michel) Kraft; brother, Eugene Carlough; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Robert W. Kraft.

Calling hours are Monday, Aug. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Peekskill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6 at the Assumption Church, followed by interment in the Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
