Peekskill Senior Charged With Grand Larceny In Yorktown

YORKTOWN, N.Y. – Yorktown police charged a 70-year-old Peekskill woman with grand larceny and robbery after she was accused of attempting to steal jewelry, wallets and clothing from Macy’s in the Jefferson Valley Mall.

Police received a call at 8:18 p.m. Friday night and stopped Annette Williams in the parking lot outside the store. Police said she had $1,774.78 worth of assorted items in her possession.

Williams was arrested following an investigation at the scene. Police said Williams also was accused of making threats to Macy’s security that she had a gun in her possession while attempting to flee, but no gun was found.

Williams was arraigned before Town Justice Sal Lagonia and transported to Westchester County Jail. She will return Tuesday to Yorktown Court to answer to the felony charges.

  • A 23-year-old Peekskill woman was arrested on multiple charges following a traffic stop early Thursday morning on Route 6. Diavana Armentos was pulled over after she ran a stop sign on East Main Street. Following the stop, police charged Armentos for driving with a suspended license, a misdemeanor, and for possessing a small amount of marijuana, a violation.
  • A 53-year-old Ossining woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after police received reports of a driver passed out behind the wheel of her car. Police reportedly found the 2005 Jeep on Route 6 and charged Monica Brache with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
  • Yorktown Heights resident Michael Bernecker, 21, was issued tickets for multiple traffic violations and charged with driving with a suspended license following an Aug. 3 motorcycle accident on Baptist Church Road, police said. Bernecker was cited for the infractions because, police said, he was allegedly traveling over the speed limit and did not stay in his lane. Bernecker was treated at the Westchester Medical Center, police said.
  • A 48-year Mahopac woman was arrested on misdemeanor petty larceny charges after she was accused of attempting to steal jewelry, wallets and belt from Sears in the Jefferson Valley Mall. Christina Malacio attempted to flee the scene Thursday night with $244.40 in assorted items, police said.
