What's Happening in Peekskill This Weekend

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – A screening of an acclaimed film starring Adrien Brody and several Earth Day events top the list of events happening this weekend in the city.

Friday, April 20

  • Jon Pousette-Dart at The BeanRunner Cafe:  7:30 - 10:30 p.m. The Founder of the Billboard charting Pousette-Dart Band will be performing. Admission is $15.20 BeanRunner Cafe is located at South Division Street in Peekskill.
  • "Detachment" at The Paramount Center for the Arts: 7:30 p.m. -9:30 p.m.  A film starring Academy Award winner Adrien Brody. General admission is $9. The Paramount Center for the Arts is located at 1008 Brown Street in Peekskill.
  • Joe Duraes at Peekskill Coffee House:  8 p.m. - 10 p.m. Duraes will be performing rock and pop covers. Admission is free. The Peekskill Coffee House is located at 101 South Division Street in Peekskill.
  • Mustard Seed Magic at 12 Grapes:  9:30 -12:30 p.m. The band will be playing R&B and pop hits. Admission is a $5 entertainment fee for all, including diners. 12 Grapes is located at 12 North Division Street in Peekskill.
  • Chris Cernak at Birdsall House: 10 p.m. - 12 a.m.  Admission is free for patrons. The Birdsall House is located at 970 Main Street in Peekskill.

Saturday, April 21

  • The Peekskill Indoor Farmers Market at the Elks Club Lodge: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. The event on Brown Street in Peekskill.
  • Saturday Crafts at Field Library: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Families can drop in for a quick free craft project. The Field Library is located at 4 Nelson Ave. in Peekskill.
  • The Orange Splot Art Spot Family Art Lab: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Explore the interactive art space, play games with art ideas and make art as a family team. Admission is $13 per person. Orangle Splot Art Spot is located at 1009 Park Street in Peekskill.
  • A Night of Classical, Jazz and Bossa Nova in Between at The BeanRunner Cafe:  7:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.  Larry Del Casale, Tony Romano, Christina Rohm will perform the three styles. Admission is $10. The BeanRunner Café is located at 201 South Division Street in Peekskill.
  • The Peekskill Community Garden Club screening of "Nourish": 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. A donation of $10 is suggested. The Paramount Center for the Arts is located at 1008 Brown Street in Peekskill.
  • Open Mic Music Night at Peekskill Coffee House: 8 p.m. - 10 p.m. The event is hosted by Andy Rice. The Peekskill Coffee House is located at 101 South Division Street in Peekskill.
  •  Andrea & the Armenian Rug Riders at 12 Grapes: 9:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. The band will be playing some of the greatest classic rock tunes of all time. Admission is a $10 entertainment fee or $5 with a dinner entree. 12 Grapes is located at 12 North Division Street in Peekskill.

Sunday, April 22

  • Swing Band Sunday at 12 Grapes: 5:30 - 8 p.m. Greg Westhoff's Westchester Swing Band at 9:30 p.m. The $5 cover goes directly to the band.  12 Grapes is located at 12 North Division Street in Peekskill.  
  • A special Earth Day Concert with Daisy Jopling at The BeanRunner Cafe: 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Admission is $25. The BeanRunner Café is located at 201 South Division Street in Peekskill.
  • Bluegrass Jam at the Birdsall House:  8 p.m. - 11 p.m. An event hosted by Trevor Hochman. Admission is free for patrons. The Birdsall House is located at 970 Main Street in Peekskill.
  • Steve & Mike at the Peekskill Coffee House: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. The guys will be playing rock and acoustic covers at 1 p.m. The Peekskill Coffee House is located at 101 South Division Street in Peekskill.
  • The Peekskill Community Garden Club Earth Day Party: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. The event at 8 John Walsh Boulevard will feature food by Fat Joe's Deli and live southern fiddle music. There will also be environmental how-to presentations and community garden plot sign-ups. Admission is $18 for adults and $12 for children ages 12 and under. All proceeds will go towards building the garden.
