Thunderstorms, Flooding Headed For Peekskill

A thunderstorm warning has been issued for the Peekskill area by the National Weather Service in New York City.

A line of severe storms capable of high winds, heavy rain, hail and local flooding will track east across the area over the next couple of hours, producing very heavy rainfall rates. Rainfall amounts may reach up to an inch an hour.

There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms until midnight, with a slight chance of showers between midnight and 2 a.m. Some storms could produce heavy rain and frequent lightning.

It will remain mostly cloudy tonight with a low temperature around 59 degrees.
