There's Plenty To Do This Weekend In Peekskill

PEEKSKILL – While the Peekskill Celebration may be the biggest event in the city this weekend, there are still plenty of other things to do. On Saturday, the Peekskill Farmer's Market will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Bank Street. Come shop for plants, baked goods, honey, maple syrup, cheeses and other locally made products. On Sunday, the Peekskill Attic Treasurers Flea Market will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Bank Street. Come search for clothes, shoes, electronics, books, video games and tons more.

As always, there will be plenty of live music this weekend at venues throughout the city. On Friday, 12 Grapes will have a blues show by the Blue Dogs. Admission is $5 for all guests including diners. The show starts at 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, the Sundown Band brings their southern rock covers to town. Admission is $10, or $5 for diners. The show starts at 9:30 p.m. The Division Street Grill will have vocalist/pianist Doug Smith on Friday. The show begins at 7 p.m. and is free for patrons. At the BeanRunner Café, enjoy a free night of reggae favorites Friday, spun by Brooklyn’s DJ Ted-B from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. On Saturday, musician and composer Premik Russell Tubbs will perform. This is a special event, and guests are advised to make a reservation ahead by calling (914)737-1701. Admission is $10. On Sunday, country singer/songwriter Suzie Brown will celebrate the release of her first full-length album, “Heartstrings”, with a free concert starting at 4 p.m. with special guest Lizanne Knot. The Peekskill Coffee House will feature the jazz band Tristen Napoli Trio Friday at 8 p.m. On Sunday, the Ardvarks, a Beatles tribute band, will perform at 1 p.m. Both shows are free.
