SOMERS, N.Y. -- A former Somers High School student was arrested overnight and accused of making threats online against students, according to the district officials.
The threat appeared on his Facebook page Wednesday and it was reported to police later that evening.
A subject is in custody and the investigation is ongoing, said Kenneth Bozier, sergeant for communications for the Hudson Valley Tri-State Emergency Center. Our liaison is state trooper Thomas Libretti, who is at the school with an investigator."
The Somers Central School District sent out an email to parents Wednesday night addressing the incident:
Late last night we received information that a threat was made toward the high school from a Somers High School student that currently does not attend the school. The State Troopers have the student in custody and there is no threat. At this point we have no reason to believe there is any reason for concern. Please send your child to school as usual.
The email was sent with the title SHS Event.
