Accumulating snow is expected to continue until about 3 p.m. Monday afternoon with total daytime accumulations of between 3 to 5 inches expected, according to the National Weather Service. Locally higher amounts of up to 8 inches are possible, especially near the coast.
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. Monday’s high temperature will be between 30 and 32 degrees.
Accidents were reported during the Monday morning commute on I-287, I-684, I-95, the Bronx River, Hutchinson River, Taconic and Saw Mill River parkways as well as Route 9A.
Minor delays were reported on the Metro-North Harlem and Hudson lines.
After a mostly sunny day Tuesday with a high near 34, more snow is expected to arrive Tuesday after 11 p.m. and continue into Wednesday before changing to freezing rain and sleet. That storm could also produce between 3 and 5 inches of snow.
