Snow Blankets Westchester

WESTCHESTER,NY--Westchester residents are cleaning up following the first significant snowstorm of 2012 Saturday.

Snow flurries are expected to give way to mostly cloudy skies with a high around 27. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m.. Total accumulation expected is 4-6 inches when all is said and done.  Many of the major State and County roadways in Westchester were still snow covered and icy by mid-afternoon. Numerous accidents and spinouts were reported.

State and local police are urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel and to allow plows and cleanup crews to clear primary and secondary roadways.
