A staging area has been established near the Garden Street School and all available manpower is assisting in the search, according to officials.
Westchester County police are also involved in the search, which includes police and fire departments from multiple municipalities. Westchester County Police K-9 bloodhound and aviation are assisting in the search.
Diego Salazar is 5-foot-10, 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has autism and epilepsy and may be in need of medical attention.
He was last seen at his home on Allan Road in Brewster at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, wearing a multicolored long-sleeve shirt and jeans. He has limited verbal skills but may speak some Spanish.
The alert also includes Westchester, Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Rockland, Sullivan and Ulster counties as well as Putnam,
