Residents To Keep Watchful Eye Amid Burglary Reports In Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Mayor Rob Rolison has issued a warning to city residents, urging them to exercise extra caution after several burglaries were reported recently.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Rolison said the thefts have occurred at south side homes during daylight hours.

"We are asking residents to keep a watchful eye in your neighborhoods and to be vigilant in keeping your doors and windows secure, especially when you are not home," Rolison said in the post.

By Friday evening, 65 people had shared the mayor's Facebook warning, which also urged residents to report any and all suspicious activity to the Poughkeepsie Police Department at 845-485-3666.
