The intersection is the only at-grade crossing on the busy highway in Putnam County, and some parents say they are worried because the school bus carrying their children has to cross there, reported lohud.com.
The project has been talked about since 2002 but somehow never got completely off the ground, said school Trustee David Spittal, according to the lohud.com report.
The lohud.com story quoted Sen. Sue Serino, R-Hyde Park, as saying that nearly $25 million has been set aside and that the overpass project could get going in three or four years.
A public hearing on the project will take place this summer, she told lohud.com.
