For each charge, he was sentenced to one to three years in prison with concurrent sentences, Borek added.
Like something straight out of a mystery novel, the November trial is just one of three Nunez faced in 2016 in which he was convicted of 12 felonies charges.
In June, Nunez was acquitted of murdering Thomas Kolman, his best friend and the husband of Linda Kolman, with whom Nunez was having an affair, according to court papers.
At the same trial, he was found guilty of two counts of perjury for having a fake CIA ID card on his computer and for giving Linda Kolman a letter that said he was a CIA agent, Borek confirmed.
In October, he was convicted of grand larceny, insurance fraud and falsifying business records in connection with a 2014 fire at a building he owned in which he improperly received a $8,400 insurance payment, a jury found.
Borek added that Nunez will serve concurrent sentences of one-and-a-third to four years in state prison for those charges.
Orange County Senior Assistant District Attorney Maryellen Albanese, the special prosecutor at all three of Nunez’s trials, asked the judge to give Nunez the maximum allowable sentence for each charge.
Albanese said Nunez committed the crimes to manipulate others for his own benefit: “He is truly evil,” she said. “Society deserves protection from his sociopathic, narcissistic behavior.”
