Police Investigate Bomb Threat At Hannaford Near Putnam Border

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York State Police were called to the Hannaford Supermarket in Wappinger just north of the Putnam County border to investigate a bomb threat on Christmas Eve, according to officials.

An unknown caller telephoned an employee at the store and advised him that there was a bomb in the store. Customers and employees were evacuated before a K9 explosives unit searched the store, police said. 

The supermarket was allowed to reopen after approximately 90 minutes, police said.
