CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- The motorcyclist killed after colliding with a Bee-Line bus on Route 9A has been identified as Charles Goulding, a 34-year-old resident of Manhattan.

Goulding was traveling north on Route 9 in Croton-on-Hudson on Thursday night, July 24, when he exited at Senasqua Road, according to Kieran O'Leary of the Westchester County Police. It appears that he lost control of the motorcycle and traveled onto North Riverside Avenue directly in front of a Bee-Line bus that was traveling south on North Riverside.

The bus was a Route 14 southbound bus en route to White Plains with 10 passengers aboard. Two passengers were transported to hospitals – one with a symptoms of an asthma or anxiety attack, one with a back injury, police said. Police said neither injury was considered serious.

A full accident investigation and reconstruction is underway by Westchester County Police, which is regular procedure in cases of a fatality. Police said it appears that speed was a factor in Goulding losing control and driving into the path of the bus.

There are no charges against the bus driver.

The bus driver was interviewed at the scene by county police. There were no indications of any drug or alcohol involvement regarding the driver. The county Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct toxicology tests to determine if there was any drug or alcohol involvement on the part of Goulding.
