Police Chase Leads to Peekskill Drug Bust

PEEKSKILL, NY -- A city man was found to be in possession of several illegal narcotics after leading police on a chase down Nelson Avenue Friday.

Antoine Boyd, 21, of Peekskill was arrested on Dec. 2 at 6:50 p.m. and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony, and unlicensed prescription medication, a violation on the 100 block of Nelson Avenue by Peekskill detective Todd Gallaher.

Officers responding to a report of a man with a gun on Nelson Ave. and encountered Boyd who fled into a house. Boyd was apprehended after a short chase and found to have have approximately 4 grams of cocaine, several dozen ecstasy pills, and a quantity of marijuana on him, according to police. No firearm was recovered at the scene. Boyd was held for arraignment in city court without bail.

Other arrests reported by Peekskill Police over the past week:

Michael Williams, 18, of Peekskill was arrested on Nov. 29 at 2:15 p.m. and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors Garfield Street by police officer Chris Vazeos. During a dispute Williams with his sister and place his hands around her neck in such and tried to choke her. Williams was held for arraignment in city court.

Peter Andolina, 17, of Peekskill was arrested on Nov. 29 at 7:55 p.m. and was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony, on the 1800 block of Crompond Road by Police Officer John Merritt. Andolina was charged following a dispute with his mother which led to him damaging numerous items throughout their home. Andolina was held for arraignment in city court without bail and is being charged as an adult.

Rodney Brickhouse, 52, of Peekskill was arrested on Nov. 30 at 6:40 p.m. and charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, on the 300 block of North Division St. by Police Officer Matt Basso.

Brickhouse was charged after officers responding to a domestic dispute encountered him holding his adult son while threatening him with a knife. After several minutes the officers were able to gain control of Brickhouse and take him into custody and held for arraignment in city court without bail.

Armando Aviles, 27, of Fort Montgomery was arrested on Dec. 4 at 2 a.m. and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, on Route 9 by Police Officer Joe Gorman. Aviles was stopped for speeding and found to be operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. A breath test confirmed that his blood alcohol level was .19 percent., more than double the legal limit.
