PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Mayor Frank Catalina honored James "Jimmy Mac" McNair, a former volunteer who offered service to many Peekskill organizations, by declaring February 2015 as James “Jimmy Mac” McNair Month in the city, according to a report by News 12 Westchester.
McNair, who was 62, died last year after traveling from a comedy show with comedian and "Saturday Night Live" alumnus Tracy Morgan when the driver of a Walmart truck slammed into the group's SUV limo on the New Jersey Turnpike, the report said.
McNair's family said they believe McNair would've been humbled by the honor, the report said.
