PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – The legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. will be celebrated this weekend in the Peekskill area.

On Sunday, The Preservation Company will have its ninth annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 4 p.m. at Colonial Terrace, 199 Oregon Road in Cortlandt Manor. Reservations are $65 and include dinner, light entertainment and an art auction.

Sculptor and musician Maxwell Kofi Donkor will create a sculpture and perform the drums in a piece about his encounter with King.

Tuesday Paige McDonald, singer, director, and songwriter, will share her song "Dr. King’s Melody" from her gospel CD, "Restore Me." Her song is featured in Preservation Company video interviews on YouTube and Facebook .

The event will also honor members Estelle Jamison, Irene Jones, Norma White, Norman Haight, Frank Pugliese and the late Scott.
