Peekskill Democrats Launch New Website

PEEKSKILL -- The Peekskill Democratic City Committee has unveiled its new website. The new site features what they say are cutting edge design, regular news, information on candidates and local officials, video links, and a running blog that features local, county, state, and national politics.

The website , was created under the leadership of Peekskill Democratic Party Acting Chairwoman Marina Ciotti, who took over the role when Chairman Michael Kane declared his run for county legislator.

"What we tried to do with the new website is create a positive, fun destination on the web just like Mayor (Mary) Foster and the Democratic council has done for the city," Ciotti said. "We hope we'll get as much traffic to our new website as the city has been getting for the festivals, new business openings, and music performances, which have been attracting thousands to Peekskill, under the Democratic administration of Mayor Foster."

Peekskilldems.com features numerous galleries of Democratic events, community service initiatives of the local party along with information and news on Peekskill and its Democratic officials. The website also includes a clip from the Rachel Maddow Show last year, which features Foster turning a comedic snub of Peekskill into a publicity opportunity to attract more visitors to Peekskill.

"What we didn't want was a website that reeked of political negativity, viral political hit jobs, or tried to portray our great city in a negative light," Ciotti said.
