The companies' bids will be released to the public Tuesday after they are reviewed in private by the Common Council.
The Paramount Search Committee – comprised of city officials, business leaders and community members – finished information-gathering meetings with the companies last Tuesday, according to a news release issued by the city last week.
The Paramount Search Committee is set to offer its recommendations to the Common Council in an executive sessiion Tuesday in a 10 p.m. following Monday's Committee of the Whole meeting.
The Paramout Center closed abruptly this past October due to financial troubles. Customers who bought tickets to canceled shows have yet to receive refunds.
Originally a 1,500-seat movie theater, the Paramount was opened by the movie company of the same name in 1930. Paramount sold the building in 1973, and it was acquired by the city in 1977 on a tax default. It has since operated as a performing arts center in various incarnations.
The theater had been operated by a nonprofit group, which was responsible for recent renovations to the building. The group was dissolved late last year.
