Peekskill Begins Annual Book Drive

PEEKSKILL, N.Y.-- Peekskill Reads is looking for books appropriate for children 12 years or younger for its 13th annual book drive through Oct. 25.

The books will be given to children, at no cost, during an open, public event called  “Men Who Read to Children," which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Field Children’s Library in Peekskill.

Donations can be dropped off the Field Library’s Childrens Library at 3 Nelson Ave. or the BeanRunner Café’s Children’s Playroom at 201 S. Division Street in Peekskill.

More than 1,000 books were donated to the book drive last year, according to Peekskill Reads.

Peekskill Reads is a community-based organization that actively supports comprehensive, community-based literacy programs and the education of Peekskill's children.
