PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- With snow in the forecast, the City of Peekskill announced Wednesday a winter parking weather alert beginning at 8 p.m.
The alert is set to remain in effect until all snow removal operations are completed, officials said in a press release. Overnight parking Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Thursday and non-alternate side streets is prohibited. Officials are advising residents to follow posted signs to ensure they are on the proper side of the street. Parking between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. is prohibited on any street "that does not have winter/alternate side parking signage," officials said in the release.
Vehicles violating the ordinance will be towed at the owner's expense and given a $50 citation, according to the release.
