Oktoberfest Returns to Peekskill German Club

PEEKSKILL -- The German-American Social Club of Peekskill will hold its annual Oktoberfest this weekend in Putnam Valley. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 11 at the club located at 11 Kramers Pond Road in nearby Putnam Valley.

Performing this year will be Die Sandler, a popular band from Germany, and local favorites Bud and Linda Kramer. Inside the clubhouse playing their accordions will be Henry Leschke can and Eric Bayer. Also performing will be the Irish step dancers from the Kelly-Oster School of Irish Dance. There will also be activities for children.

This year there will also be a special memorial ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 11 remembering the events of September 11, 2001. As always a great variety of German and American food is available including imported Oktoberfest pretzels and domestic and imported beer in bottles and on tap including Germany's Spaten beer. Mixed drinks are also available at the clubhouse bar, as our soda and water There is no ATM machine on the premises and no outside food or drink are permitted.
