Minimum Wage Increase Goes Into Effect In Westchester

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Close to 700,000 workers throughout New York State will be given a government-mandated pay raise as of Wednesday, according to NBC New York.

The minimum wage will increase from $8 to $8.75 per hour on Dec. 31. The wage hike is just one step in a series of wage increases that will see the minimum wage jump as high as $10.10 per hour if legislators pass another increase in the next legislative session, NBC New York said.
