County Executive George Latimer announced he is sending the renewed contracts Contracts for the Westchester Community College Federation of Teachers and the Civil Service Employees Association to the Board of Legislators for review.

"Their work is commendable, and so it is only fair that they get the respect they deserve with renewed contracts," Latimer said.

The contracts cover nearly 600 employees at Westchester County College. An agreement was reached between the college and the unions in 2015 but was rejected by former County Executive Rob Astorino.

The contract for teachers is retroactive to Sept. 1, 2011, and full-time staff will receive two-percent increases in 2014-2015, three-percent in 2015-2016, a #1,750 increase in 2016-2017 and a $1,500 increase in 2017-2018.

Adjunct faculty will receive no increases in the first three years of the deal and then two-percent increases every other year except for 2015-2016, where they get a three-percent increase.

Civil service employees will receive a one-percent increase in 2012 and two-percent increases each year from 2013-2015 and then will receive lump-sum payments.
