Sirens will sound at full-volume during the test for about four minutes and will be heard throughout Westchester, Rockland, Orange and Putnam counties, according to a press release from Entergy.

Residents are asked to remember that the sirens "are not a signal to evacuate," according to the release. In an actual emergency the sirens would sound to alert the public to tune in to a local EAS radio or television station for important information and direction, according to the release.
