PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – Developer Martin Ginsburg is again pitching plans to turn the former St. Mary’s Convent in Peekskill into apartments and townhouses, according to lohud.com.
The $50 million project – which would also include an inn, spa and hiking trails – could make the city into a tourist destination, Ginsburg told the Peekskill City Council this week, lohud said.
Ginsburg Development Companies bought the land in 2003, but development plans unveiled in 2007 had to be set aside due to a downturn in the housing market, lohud reported.
