William LaPierre, owner of Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown, is entering the world of 3D printing. LaPierre has started Mini 3D ME and is opening a storefront in Yorktown at 1811 Commerce Street. LaPierre is the first person in New York with a specific 3D printer.

The printer allows Mini 3D ME to create identical 3-D figurines of people, shadow boxes, portraits, wedding cake toppers, among others. The figures include  details of the person or object such as, muscles, dimples, facial expressions, clothing wrinkles, hair, clothing logos, accessories, and buttons.

The goal of Mini 3D ME is to freeze time and create lifelong memories for people.

Since it opened, Mini 3D ME has been attracting clients throughout Westchester, teaming up with summer camps in the county.

"Instead of a regular photograph, each camper gets its own figurine," Chelsea Waller, a spokeswoman for Mini 3D ME, said. "It's a unique fun memory."

Mini 3D Me has also been hired by Aviva Drescher of "The Real Housewives of New York" to create print figurines for her book tour.

"It's always a struggle to get a new brand off the ground," Waller said. "It's a great publicity tool to be connected with her. She's a big figure in the public eye. It's really exciting."

Waller said the company has been doing a lot of bridal shows and has found many clients that way, including putting couples on top of the wedding cake.

"We're one of only three companies in the world like this," Waller said. "We're so unique. There's really no comparison to other figurines, they come out blurred. The detail is not there. It's really neat that we're right here in town."
