Four-Alarm Wappingers Falls Business District Fire Spreads Rapidly

A fire that broke out Saturday at 2655 East Main Street (Route 9D) in Wappingers Falls has spread to multiple businesses, been upgraded to a four-alarm fire and caused heavy damage to stores in the business district in the village.

The blaze was finally contained just before 8 p.m.

Route 9D was closed since the fire broke out just before 3 p.m. 

No injuries were reported as of 7 p.m.

"Our thoughts go to those affected, Mayor (Matt) Alexander and the entire Village of Wappingers Falls," Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro said.
