Family Of Peekskill Man Killed In Tracy Morgan Crash Settles For $10M

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The family of James "Jimmy Mac" McNair of Peekskill, who died in a June 2014 accident that also injured comedian and "Saturday Night Live" alumnus Tracy Morgan, has settled its wrongful death suit against Walmart for $10 million dollars, according to a report on Friday in the New York Daily News.

McNair, a former volunteer who offered service to many Peekskill organizations, died when the driver of a Walmart truck slammed into an SUV limo on the New Jersey Turnpike, according to several reports. Morgan and his companions in the limo were returning from a comedy show in Delaware

Court documents in Westchester revealed the settlement's sum, according to the Daily News.

The deal was announced in January but did not go public, due to confidentiality, but was released in a court filing where McNair’s lawyer Daryl Zaslow argued that he was owed $3 million for his work on the case, the Associated Press reported.
