Experts Are Divided On Cure For Chronic Lyme Disease

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- For most people suffering from Lyme Disease, curing the symptoms requires only a few weeks of anti-biotics, but for roughly 10 percent of those suffering with the condition, symptoms can last months or even years, and experts are divided on how to cure it, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Some leading authorities believe lingering issues with the disease stem from residual tissue damage, while others say it comes from lingering issues with the immune system, The Wall Street Journal reported. 

The good news stems from recent research out of the Lyme Disease Clinical Research Center at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine that revealed a biomarker could determine which patients are at higher risk for prolonged issues, The Wall Street Journal said.
