PEEKSKILL, N.Y. An 89-year-old Peekskill woman died Sunday morning after being struck by an automobile Saturday night on the 900 block of North Division Street, according to police.
Doris Rodak, who lived on the street close to where the accident took place, was struck at approximately 8:10 p.m. by a vehicle while crossing the street, according to Peekskill Police Spokesperson Sgt. Ray Henderlong.
Rodak was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, but on Sunday morning, she succumbed to the multiple injuries, Henderlong said.
"The accident is still under investigation," Henderlong said. "It doesn't look like speed was a factor. It's a dark stretch of road that's not very well lit."
