WEDNESDAY, June 15
9:25p.m. - Henry Melendez, 47, of Peekskill was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdeamenor, on the 800 Block of Washington Street by Police Officers John White and Mike Lawrence. Melendez was seen operating a bicycle after dark without proper reflective gear and subsequently stopped. After a brief investigation, Melendez was found to be in possession of two baggies of powder cocaine and subsequently arrested. He was held for arraignment in city court.
THURSDAY, June 16
3:15 a.m. - Jack Rice, 23, of Peekskill was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, on the 700 Block of Nelson Avenue by Police Officer John Marchioni. Rice was charged following an auto accident where he struck two parked vehicles and then failed several field sobriety tests and submitted to a blood test to determine his blood alcohol concentration, police said. He was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in city court on June 27. TUESDAY, June 14 4:15 p.m. - Jo Capobianco, 46,of Mahopac was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, on the Bear Mountain Parkway at Carhart Avenue by Police Officer Orlita Simmons. Capobianco was charged following an auto accident on the Bear Mountain Parkway in which she passed a steady red light and struck a second vehicle, police said. Capobianco and the operator of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident. Capobianco is suspected of operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol as she failed several field sobriety tests, police said. A blood test to determine her blood alcohol concentration was obtained. Capobianco was released on her own recognizance and is due in city court on June 27.
FRIDAY, June 17 7:55 p.m. - James Paccione, 54, of Lake Peekskill (Putnam Valley) was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, on the Bear Mountain Parkway at Cahart Avenue by Police Officer Mike Lawrence. Paccione was stopped for running a stop sign on Carhart and Westchester Avenue and found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana and crack cocaine, police said. He was released after posting $300 bail and is due in city court on June 27. SUNDAY, June 19 11:05 p.m. - Manuel Amendano Quintuna, 51, of Peekskill, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident, a misdemeanor, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a violation. He was arrested on the 1200 block of Lincoln Terrace by Police Officer Julian Hermosillo. Amendano-Quintuna was charged following an auto accident in which he crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a vehicle carrying three people, all of whom sustained minor injuries. He fled the scene but was arrested by responding patrol officers on the 1700 block of Lincoln Terrace. A test of his blood alcohol concentration showed it to be .12 percent and he was held for arraignment in city court.
