PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Councilwoman Drew Claxton was once again named Peekskill's deputy mayor by the Common Council. according to theexaminernews.com.

The appointment was not without some controversy. The Common Council said that the City Charter stipulates that the most experienced council member be named deputy mayor. Newly elected Republican Mayor Frank Catalina contended that the mayor was allowed to select his deputy in the past and asked for the same courtesy, theexaminernews.com reported.

Congratulations! Thank you for your service to our community.

Again, the democrats have shown how disingenuous they are regarding the past. Not a week ago. Ms. Claxton said Don Benett was "picked" by the mayor and had 4 years experience. Cathy Pisani. Being the lone republican on the council at the time had 20 years experience. So Cathy Pisani should have been named deputy mayor based on her seniority based on Ms. Claxton's current reasoning. Do you see now why no one trusts the city government.
