Cuomo Proposes $1.3B To Keep Tappan Zee Bridge Tolls Down

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Gov. Andrew Cuomo proposed spending $1.3 billion on the state thruway system in order to keep tolls down for the new Tappan Zee Bridge, allow for repair and maintenance and to support the construction and alternative transit options, according to a report by nystateofpolitics.com.

Cuomo also expects to spend an additional $750 million on New York state's network of roads and bridges, the report said. 

No further information was available regarding the spending or how much cash will go towards tolls or the 3.9 billion Tappan Zee Bridge replacement project, the report said.
