Cub Scouts Donate To Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. -- Fifteen Cub Scouts from Montrose Pack 36 participated recently in a food drive to support the Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry. Eight carts of food (estimated value of $3,000) and $620 were collected over the two-day period.

Tiger Cub leaders Brian and Melissa Neurauter organized the event. Also instrumental in the food drive success was Veronica Reynolds, the Croton A&P manager. While entering the A&P, the scouts provided the shoppers with a list of needed food items: pasta, canned goods, canned fruit, canned meat, etc. A number of A&P shoppers bought and donated these items or donated cash to the campaign.

All food was dropped at the food pantry in time for Thanksgiving. Another food drive will be organized in the spring. Congratulations to the Montrose Cub Scout Pack 36 for a job well done.
