Nicholas Sarcone, 27, was charged on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, after the woman arrived at Yorktown Police Department to report receiving multiple threatening text messages she had received from Sarcone while at her residence in Yorktown, police said.

A follow-up investigation found that Sarcone threatened the woman on multiple dates from November 28 through December 22, 2016, causing her to fear for her physical safety, police said.

Sarcone was contacted by police by phone and voluntarily surrendered at Yorktown Police Headquarters on December 29, 2016, at about 9:01 am. A Temporary Order of Protection was issued in favor of the victim and Sarcone was released on his own recognizance.

He is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court on Jan. 19.
