Con Edison Talks Continue Past Deadline

HARRISON, N.Y. — Negotiations between Con Edison and Local 1-2 of the Utility Workers of America were continuing as of 1 a.m. Sunday.

The union threatened to strike at midnight Saturday when its contract expired, but the two sides remain at the table. A Con Edison spokesman would not comment on the specifics of the negotiations, while union spokesman John Melia added that the talks have been going on for 10 days.
