Black Bear Sightings Reported In Hopewell Junction

The East Fishkill Police Department said Thursday afternoon that it has received reports of black bear sightings around the hamlet of Hopewell Junction.

Although it is common for bears to be found wandering into rural areas, residents are advised to bring pets and children inside and be on alert while conducting outdoor activities, police said

If a resident observes the bear, please seek shelter and contact East Fishkill Police to report the bear’s location.
