WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The burst of snow in Westchester, heavy in some spots, resulted in some afternoon accidents Saturday.

Two inches of snowfall was reported in central Westchester -- in Armonk -- by the National Weather Service before the precipitation changed over to sleet, freezing rain and then all rain.

A truck rollover resulted in the brief closure of southbound I-95 in New Rochelle between North Avenue (Exit 16) and Route 1 (Exit 15) at 4:30 p.m. Two lanes reopened by 5:30 p.m.

It was stop-and-go on the northbound Hutchinson River Parkway following an accident between East 3rd Street (Exit 10) and Lincoln Avenue (Exit 28) reported at 4:35 p.m.

An accident on the Cross Westchester Expressway  (I-287), reported at 4:20 p.m., slowed down traffic near Exit 1 (Saw Mill River Parkway/Route 119) in Greenburgh.

An accident reported at 3:40 p.m. on the northbound Sprain Brook Parkway resulted in two lanes being blocked between Tuckahoe Road and Jackson Avenue in Yonkers.

An earlier accident occurred on southbound I-684 between Lake Street and Route 120 (Exit 2) in Purchase.

A car hit a pole at the intersection of Barnes Lanes and Legend Court in Purchase in an accident reported at 4 p.m.

An automobile overturned on Locust Avenue in Harrison just a short while earlier in an accident reported at 3:30 p.m.
