“I am thrilled that this play will premiere off Broadway, and I’m very excited to collaborate with such a talented director and group of actors to showcase my work,” Malawer said. “My play has been workshopped and performed locally in Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties, but it is truly rewarding to introduce this drama to a wider audience in the city.”

“dEAD dOG pARK” is a tautly written, riveting drama about a white police officer accused of pushing a young African American teenage boy out a four-story window during a police chase. In a moment, this tragic incident forever redefines the lives of all those intimately connected to it. The critically acclaimed theater company Bedlam joins with Boz and the Bard to present this prescient play. Dead Dog Park is an actual park located near the George Washington Bridge.

Written by Malawer and directed by Eric Tucker (Bedlam Theater), “dEAD dOG pARK” begins performances on Feb. 11 at 59E59 Theatres, 59 East 59 St. (between Park and Madison Avenues). The cast features Eboni Flowers, Susannah Millonzi. Migs Govea, Tom O’Keefe, Ryan Quinn and Jude Tibeau.

In addition to this play, Malawer has written three other full-length plays: “Chrysler”, “Cadillac”, and “Chokeotte Dreams”. Tucker was named the 2014 Wall Street Journal Director of the Year.

Performances of “dEAD dOG pARK” will run through March 6. Tickets are $35. To purchase tickets or check for performance times, visit www.59e59.org or call 212-279-4200.
