Nearly three dozen students at St. Patrick's School in Yorktown were awarded their graduation pins in a special ceremony during a Mass at the church on Friday.

The annual ceremony, in which goldtone and green pins are blessed and distributed to the school's 8th grade students, was attended by several hundred students and family members.

"Many of our students have been here with us since kindergarten days,"said Monica Virgilio, Principal of St. Patrick's School, "Many have joined us along the way. We would like to make the coming months more special for you, our graduates, by presenting to you at this time your St. Patrick's school pins. This pin will be worn on your uniform for now, and then on your graduation gown in June as a reminder of your friendships and obligations."

The Rev. Thomas Kreiser celebrated the Mass, blessed the pins, and distributed them to students.
