Moore, Former Peekskill H.S. Teacher, Dies at 72

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Francis T. Moore, a resident of Wappingers Falls, N.Y. and formerly of Peekskill, died on Oct. 3. He was 72. Moore was born in Carbondale, PA on May 24, 1939, the son of James and Mary Wengrzynek Moore. On July 5, 1969 he married the late Jean A. Fisher at the Church of the Assumption in Peekskill. Moore worked as a science teacher at Peekskill High School until his retirement. He was also an associate member of Cortlandt Hook and Ladder. He is survived by his daughters Jennifer Moore and Melinda Miller with husband Lenny of Carmel, N.Y., his brother James of Carbondale, his sisters Elizabeth Loughney of Mayfield, PA, Barbara Price with husband Joseph of Clark Summit, PA, Margaret McDonald with husband William of Falls Church, VA, Jean Smith with husband Joseph of Carmel, Patricia Resine with husband John of Hockesin, DE, Cathy Penska of Eynon, PA, Ann Ryan of Eynon and Terry Talerico of Carbondale, his granddaughter Samantha and many nieces and nephews. Moore was predeceased by his wife Jean, who died Mar. 3, 1991, his brother Joseph and his sisters Mary and Alice. Visiting will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac. The funeral mass takes place at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charities he supported: The American Cancer Society, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and Doctors Without Borders.
